Regarding inflatable SUPs
There are some specifics when it comes to repair inflatable boards:
Please bring your pump. We have several pumps, but sometimes they don’t fit a specific valve. If there is a problem with the valve, please bring the valve key too;
We can not guarantee a repair of an inflatable SUP, there are too many factors that are not under our control. This is different for rigid boards where we give a limited one year warranty on repairs and a limited three year warranty on new boards.
To test a repair or to find a leak, we inflate the board to 100% of its nominal pressure. If there is a concern with that level of pressure, we need to know that at the time we take on the repair. Sometimes owners (of older boards) inflate their board to less than nominal pressure as the material and its connection can weaken over time. We don’t want to damage your board when we test it so its important that we know if you do not want us to pressure up to nominal pressure (for most boards its 15 psi).
We will try our best to repair the problem(s) you reported, but sometimes it is not possible. In that case, the cost is half of what we quoted originally.
If you want to upgrade to a new, rigid SUP from Kawa Boards, then it would be our pleasure to propose you a credit for your used inflatable SUP.
Quotation
We can give you a budget based on photos and your description which can be send to robert@kawaboards.ca or bring your board directly to our shop. Once we received your item, we confirm the price and you can decide if you want us to proceed with the repair. In the rare event (less than 5%) that the costs increase, we will contact you first and obtain your consent before we proceed. All costs are without taxes which will be added to the final invoice (approx. 15%).
Please note: We can’t make quotes over the phone due to the subjective nature of describing damages.
